ORTHOPEDIC THERAPY
What is Orthopedic Physical Therapy?
When a child experiences an orthopedic condition or injury, their bones and muscles require special care. It is important to understand how different a growing body is from that of an adult, and is why we consider overall development when creating a plan for treatment. Our physical therapist are experienced in treating a range of simple orthopedic injuries to more complex recovery from surgery. Common conditions and diagnoses our therapist frequently treat include:
-

What to Expect at Your First Appointment
At your first appointment, your physical therapist will take the time to evaluate and get to know you. Your physical therapist will review your medical history and together help determine a plan for recovery. Physical therapy usually takes place a few times a week over the course of several weeks. Your therapist will create exercises for you based on your specific injury and goals. By doing carefully designed exercises with a physical therapist, you can help speed your recovery from an injury or orthopedic surgery.
